Mr. Andrej Kidess
Mr Andrej Kidess is a consultant surgeon at Edgbaston Eye Consultants who performs cataract surgery and has a special interest in macular diseases such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, macular holes, epiretinal membrane and uveitis. His NHS base is at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. He is a dedicated and highly trained specialist who has had specialist postgraduate experience in Medical Retina, Surgical Retina, Cataracts and Uveitis. He delivers high quality care in all these areas at Edgbaston Eye Consultants and has contributed to the continuing success of the clinic.
His passion is to deliver excellence in his work using the high-level of clinical education and experience in his training with 2 clinical fellowships in Medical Retina at the Queen Elizbeth Hospital and a further 2 fellowships in Vitreoretinal surgery at the Western Eye Hospital in London. He is dedicated to his patients and is active in medical research, with a significant number of his articles published in peer-reviewed ophthalmology journals and medical book chapters. He presents his work regularly at national and international meetings. He is a member of European Board of Ophthalmology, Euretina, European and UK Societies of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
